October 14 (Sunday)
Worskhop site: http://www.hcieducation.com/pmwiki.php?n=Conference.NewTechnology
Workshop Theme and Goals:
The workshop will focus on the problem of teaching HCI when technology
is in rapid development, starting from questions such as:
- Where should the focus in education be, on technology or on principles?
- How should educators handle the advent of new interaction paradigms?
- Is it possible to teach only principles, without looking to the
technological development?
- What are the cultural and international HCI issues in connection with
new technology?
The goal of the workshop is to find out possible strategies to teach HCI
in a rapidly developing technology. One of the outcomes is a published
report on various possibilities to include or exclude new technology in
the HCI education. The workshop addresses the education of HCI
specialists, and should attract educators from many countries.
