Show me Yours and I'll Show you Mine: Sharing Design Exercises from Interaction Design Teaching

October 15 (Sunday) full day

This workshop is the one for all of you interaction design teachers who are interested in sharing practical tools for teaching interaction design, i.e. design exercises, project ideas etc. It is a full-day practically oriented-workshop based on the design exercises the participants submit, as well as those that they create together.

The main goal is to exchange gained experiences, hereby enrichening and inspiring interaction design education everywhere. Another goal is to create networks for teachers within the sub disciplines of interaction design. The outcome will be a set of design exercises; some provided by the participants in beforehand, some created during the workshop.

Date: October 15 2006
Prerequisites: Any one who has teaching experience from at least on course related to interaction design is welcome to attend.
Participation: The workshop takes 24 participants. In order to participate, you must submit two things. A contribution – a design exercise – in the proposed form no later than the 1st of September (see instructions and examples on this at http://www.cs.chalmers.se/idc/workshop/). And a wish. :)
Organizers: Lars Hallnäs, who is Professor in interaction design at The Swedish School of Textiles, University College of Borås, visiting professor in interaction design at Chalmers University of Technology and director of studies of Chalmers graduate school Human-Technology-Design and Sus Lundgren, member of the IDC | Interaction Design Collegium at Chalmers, being a Ph.D. student who works with inventing, finding or exploring methods and approaches for teaching interaction design.
