Tutorial goals
The Rational Unified Process (RUP) is a software engineering process that is widely used and has contributed to creating a more unified view on software development. However, problems with the use of the process have been observed in several projects, and it does not provide support enough to produce a usable system.
During this tutorial we will introduce a new discipline, Usability Design, extending the RUP. Our aim with the new discipine is to complement the RUP to make it more suitable for systems development where usability is aknowledged to be important. The way to do this is to apply a more user-centered approach to the process.
